WILD FORAGING

Led by mycologist, Ema Corro, we’ll learn about the importance of fungi to our forests and how to identify species that are found in both non-native and native environments. We’ll practice safe and responsible foraging for wild mushrooms outside Daylesford on Dja Dja Wurrung Country before sampling our forest-harvested bounty.

  • Fungi play a critical role in our ecosystems and help to maintain the health of our forests. In this workshop, we’ll learn about these ecological relationships along with the principles of responsible foraging. After learning to identify which mushrooms are safe to forage, we’ll venture into the forest in search of them.

After the forage, we’ll sample our finds with a light afternoon snack. Participants will be able to return home with their collection once all foraged species have been checked by Ema.
